Microsoft has just reported that 3M is planning to complete rollout for the Windows 7 in the coming few years and the company has already deployed Windows 7 to its 7,000 employees out of  nearly 80,000 of its employees. This move will help the employees to become more productive and it will also improve the current IT resources of the company.

3M is a leading producer of a wide range of products for many different markets. The company has been looking for an operating system to make its employees more productive while offering better network security and cost effective solutions for PC management.

According to the company sources, they have observed considerable reduction in start-up time of their computers and navigation has become a lot easier on different computers at workplace. Similarly, they are observing considerable decrease in compliance cost and better data protection.

“Many of our employees had Windows 7 on their home computers even before we were thinking about upgrading our IT resources. They have already seen what wonders it could do for them and how easier life could become with it.” says John Turner, 3M Global IT Infrastructure Director.

“No doubt, we have noticed a considerable boost in our employees’ performance after the deployment of Windows 7. Microsoft and 3M share a history to respond to the customers’ needs and provide them with best possible solutions.” John further adds.
