Super LCDs for HTC Desire and Google Nexus One!

In a latest Press Release, HTC announced that its planning to use Super LCD (SLCD) displays for its smartphones. HTC was looking curious in the last month to find alternative screen technology and finally it confirmed that it’s going to use Sony-made SLCD panels for the handsets like Google Nexus One and HTC Desire.

Samsung is recently supplying OLED displays for their AMOLED-equipped devices but unfortunately, it doesn’t have enough displays to meet consumer requirement and left the Google with only one option: switch to Super LCD.

As Peter Chou (CEO of HTC) said, “The SLCD displays provide consumers with a comparable visual experience to HTC’s current 3.7 inch displays with some additional benefits including battery performance.”

Now HTC will be able to meet consumer demand by using new Sony-made SLCD. And new handsets with TFT LCD will hit the market later in the year.
