Vodafone confirmed that the company is bringing out the Android 2.2 update to HTC Desire smartphone for their customers and they will get the update on their phones by the end of the this week but only for unlocked phones. But before sending any update to their customers, network providers must be sure, this update will not destroy the ability of their users’ phones to make or receive calls and text messages.
In a blog post Vodafone said, “We are working with HTC and Google to push the new 2.2 Android firmware out to Vodafone HTC Desire customers as soon as possible. We’ll update customers when we have a confirmed release date.”
The customers who have downloaded the Android 2.1 update, Vodafone ensures to remove the 360 update in Android 2.2 and make the user enable by giving the control of 360 services. In the Android 2.2 version, user will have choice over whether to install 360 services or not.
Vodafone is bringing out the update only to promote its 360 service; this is the only service which some users want on their phone and rests don’t.
